HCG Diet

Update on 12/14/09 Monday!

Can you believe Christmas is only 11 days away? I still have shopping I need to get done soon! Just don't know what to get people I guess. So to the point of the blog eh? Sunday I reach 40 lbs lost! Unfortunately, I gained 3 lbs so I'm back down to 37 total. I'm sitting at 20 lbs this round and I'm hoping it was just water weight so I've been trying to get all my water in for today. We had some not too bad tasting crab cakes. A little on the spicy side but they weren't too bad considering we couldn't use real crab cake ingredients.

Today has been such a crazy day. I want to say bad but there's nothing bad that really happened except maybe the weight gain and another thing. I was told that someone had said that once I go off the diet, I'm going to gain all the weight back. So far I've been doing well to lose it and I haven't been gaining much except a few pounds here and then which is lost again anyway. I'm just frustrated that someone in my own family would say such a mean and hurtful thing about me. I don't think people understand how not being supportive can be a huge damper for someone, no matter what it is. I also don't think people realize how much their love and support means to me! Those that haven't been supportive and have tried to steer me off my journey, well I don't hang out with them anymore. Most of the reason why I stay at home too. But I really do want to thank you guys for being so supportive while I go on this roller coaster journey of weight loss. It's taken me 25 years to get to the weight I'm at now and I know it isn't going to be a quick, over-night cure. Tomorrow is another day and sure to be a better day than today.

HCG Diet

12/12/09 - Saturday

Good morning fellow bloggers. What a week it has been. Thursday, I'd lost 3 lbs! How awesome is that? Sadly, Friday I gained a pound but today I'm down 2. So let's do the math shall we? I'm down 22 lbs for this round and a grand total of ... drum roll ... 39 lbs! I was looking at my stomach this morning in the mirror and it's looking a little saggy. It could just be my imagination though. I'm hoping it is! The stretch marks are starting to fade though which is really awesome!

Yesterday was a rough day for me. After stepping on the scale and finding that I'd gained a pound, I found out that my truck still isn't ready. Been over 2 weeks without it now. Apparently the mechanic decided to find some more things wrong with it. They must not be very busy I guess. Anyway, they say I should have it Monday but I'm not going to get my hopes up. After I left work I came home and didn't even feel like eating so I took a nap. Slept for like 3 hours. Woke up at 4:30pm and figured I should probably eat so I threw some lettuce in a bowl, heated up some chicken and put some strawberry dressing and that was lunch/dinner. On top of the salad I ate 2 apples during the day. I'm feeling the same way today, no wanting to eat. Looks like I'll be forcing myself to eat again today. Oh well. Not much longer on the HCG. I can only lose 12 more lbs before I have to stop taking it and I'm hoping it goes quickly. This diet is getting more and more difficult for me to resist normal foods, especially when offered candy bars at work! So far, I've been able to stay strong and I hope will be able to the rest of the way. :)

HCG Diet

12/09/2009 - Wednesday

This morning I woke up around 2 am because I need to use the restroom. I thought for kicks and giggles, I would weigh myself. Well the scale said I gained 2 lbs. I stepped off and tried it again and it said the same thing (reliable scale for sure). So, disappointed, I went back to bed. 5 AM rolled around and I got up and relieved myself again, got back on the scale and it had gone down 1 lbs. So I'm up 1 lbs instead of 2. I suppose I should be happy I didn't really gain 2 lbs but I'm just upset that I gained anything at all. I'm thinking the steak I had for lunch may have been the cause of it because I don't know how it was prepared (whether my brother made it or my mom).

Sadly, most of today was spent sleeping. I did go to work for a few hours but I had a headache so I couldn't stand to be there for too long. I think the most I did was decorate the Christmas tree and did the dishes. Otherwise I was laying in bed sleeping or playing on the computer. I haven't had any energy today. Should probably find the b-12 vitamin's that I bought a last round and start taking those again to help. I'm down 18 lbs in 13 days. Not too shabby even with the weight gain, I'm ahead of the game. I'm just hoping that the next 16 lbs shed quickly so I can start the maintanence phase. :)

Thanks for the support, as always! Love you all =)

HCG Diet

12/08/2009 - Tuesday

Okay so the weather has been so crazy today! We have maybe a foot of snow outside. I attempt to drive to work in the Mustang I'm borrowing but that quickly failed. Thankfully, I had at least some good new this morning! I'm down another 0.7 lbs. I'm still only at 19 lbs lost but for 12 days, I don't think that's too bad! I've been doing a holiday health challenge with work and I've been doing some exercising while on the HCG. Nothing too extreme or anything but at least it's something right? The reason you aren't supposed to exercise too much while taking HCG is if you are burning more calories than you take in, you are burning fat right? Well it's going to be the good fat that you need to protect your body. The HCG burns the stubborn bad fat that your body stores and never uses. The nutrients stored in the fat you burn is still kept in your blood so I'm not losing any nutrients either which is always good considering I don't get enough Vitamin D and with the Depo shot, I'm suppose to get more calcium too.

I'm thinking part of the reason I didn't lose as much yesterday is because I didn't drink much water and I also forgot to eat a fruit with my dinner. Whoops! I'm doing a lot better today though. Already on my 3rd bottle water and it's only about half full. Only 1 more to go. :)

Things have been getting better with the cooking situation. My mom has been better at telling me when she'll be home and when she'll be gone which makes things easy. And she's been making more portions when she cooks too which she totally doesn't need to do but I'm glad she does! :)

One last note: I put on the shirt I bought a few months ago and it fits! It's slightly tight but it looks really good on! The pants aren't quite there and that's okay. I'm just glad because this shirt is 4 sizes smaller than what I generally wear! I can't wait till I can start shopping for smaller size jeans. Maybe clothes shopping will be fun for once!

HCG Diet

Here's another update!

I started the HCG drops again on Thanksgiving. Thursday and Friday were my "load" days so I could eat whatever I want. Sadly I ate WAY too much on Thursday and felt a little sick but quickly recovered. Yesterday (Saturday) was day 1 of the low calorie diet. I think I did pretty well considering all we had to eat in the house was tuna and tomatoes and apples. Tomorrow I will probably have shrimp salad and for dinner, chili! YUMMY!

As far as the total goes, I sadly had gained 10 lbs while on the maintanence phase so starting round 2 I was only down 23 lbs from my original weight back in September. I'm happy to report that I'm back down to 29 lbs lost! I'm going to be doing it the full time so Jan 6th will be the day I stop the stops and Jan 9th will be the last VLCD day. I cannot wait to see what changes come this round and I'm hoping that they will be a lot better this round than last round. Not that the first round didn't give me extraordinary results! I'm completely happy with the results so far. I'm just hoping I can do better when it comes time for the maintanence phase. I tend to get a sweet tooth that can never fully be satisfied which is why I put on the weight in the first place. Wish me luck everyone! I appreciate all the love and support I've received so far and I'm glad to know people are proud of me for being able to do this. :-)

HCG Diet

Almost through the 3 weeks of no starches. Tomorrow I can slowly add starches into my diet but I'm going to give it an extra day because I'm a little nervous about it. I had lost 4 lbs over the weekend from moving to my mom's place but I put it back on which isn't a bad thing since I don't weigh more than when I ended the VLCD. This has been quite the journey and I can't wait until Turkey day to start round 2! Only 30 more days!!! I am totally ready to wear cute skinny clothes and actually enjoy shopping as opposed to dreading it! Thanks to everyone that has supported me and not tempted me away from my diet. It means a lot to me to have people I can depend on to be supportive while doing this strict diet.

HCG Diet

Day 14 of the 3rd phase and it's going a lot better now than it had been! I had done the steak/apple day 3 times in the first week. It was quite annoying and frustrating but I think I have it under control now. I'm down a total of 29 lbs so far and I couldn't be more excited! I just can't wait till November to be able to start round 2! I will be starting the drops on Thanksgiving so I can "load" (eat whatever I'd like) for the first 2 days then the third day I'll start the VLCD (very low calorie diet). I'm way excited to be losing more weight. The down side to losing weight, my clothes are starting to be too big. While I'm happy they don't fit anymore, I'm frustrated because I don't have money to get new clothes. Belts FTW! As always, thanks for the encouraging words and support!! I always appreciate it!

Update of the diet

Alright so I haven't updated this for a while so here it goes. I am down a total of 25 lbs! I stopped taking the drops as of Sunday and I'm still having to do the same foods for 72 hours. Come Thursday, I'll be eating the same foods however I get to add a little more AND I get to eat 3 times and have 3 snacks! I'm totally excited and a little nervous that I'll over-endulge. I just want it to be Thursday so I don't feel like I'm starving myself!

HCG Diet

Today is Monday, September 28th and I'm totally loving life! Okay it sucks that I don't get to enjoy the foods I normally do but because I've been sticking to this strict diet, I've been able to lose a total of 23 lbs so far since September 3rd! My mom found a recipe for homemade Chili which we made with Veal. It is very yummy and I'll be having the left overs for lunch today.

So we will be doing this very low calorie diet for 2 more weeks and then we will start to add more foods. I'm excited for the fruits and veggies I'll be able to snack on! The calorie count will go from roughly 500 to 1500 so I'll be eating about 6 times a day. 3 meals and 3 snacks. Thankfully milk is allowed on the 1500 calorie diet so I'll be able to have my daily calcium instead of having to take horse size pills. I'm so happy that I've been able to find a diet that has worked for me. I would reccommend this diet to anyone that has the will power and the support because believe me, it's a tough diet to stick to. But as long as you stick to it and keep your goal in sight, you'll be able to succeed.

One last note, my mom has to switch to the shots which are stronger than the drops I've been taking and she's started to lose weight again. She hadn't lost weight for probably a week then went to the shots and now she's losing weight. I'm so glad to have her doing this diet with me. I'm sure I would have given up a long time ago if she wasn't supporting me through this. I also want to thank everyone that has been so supportive and given me words of encouragment. It means more to me than you know! I'll update you again later. :)

HCG Diet

Here is yet another update:

This morning I woke up really early and I went and weighed myself. WHOOHOO! down a pound so the total is at 19. After seeing the loss of another pound, I took my drops and went back to bed since it was my day off. For lunch I had Tuna and salsa with Celery and strawberries with stivia. It was very yummy. For dinner I made some chicken with a Steak seasoning and Chili Powder over lettuce with Apple Cider Vinegar dressing and an apple. Very tasty. I'm not sure what I'm going to take for lunch tomorrow. Probably Tuna again or maybe some chicken. Who knows. I'll keep you all updated on how I'm doing. :)

HCG Diet

Here's an update:

This morning I woke up thinking that I'd be another pound down on the scale but instead of a pound down, I was up 2 pounds!! How did this happen? I have been racking my brain trying to figure out why and I can only think of 1 reason. Last night I didn't eat dinner until 7:30 when it suggests that you eat dinner before 6. I don't see it being anything I ate because I haven't eaten anything not allowed on the diet. *shrug* Who knows. I just hope that tomorrow I will be down at least 1 more pound. Thanks for all the support and again, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!!

HCG Diet

Okay, so I'm sure you all (or at least most of you) have heard of the HCG diet. HCG is a hormone found in women when they are pregnant. This hormone has been used for over 50 years in dieting to help not only women but men as well. HCG can be administered as shots or as drops under the tongue. Since I shiver at the thought of needles, I decided to give the drops a try. I started the drops on Sept 3rd so I'm on day 17 and so far I've lost 19 lbs! I thought I'd start a blog and document my success and struggles through out this diet. My goal is to lose 100 lbs. I'm hoping to be able to be down by March '10 but we will see how well that works.

The first 2 days of the drops I was able to eat anything and everything I wanted since the HCG takes 3 days before it becomes active in your body. Starting the 3rd day I started the Very Low Calorie Diet (vlcd). I can drink all the tea and water I'd like however I have to limit the food I take in. I can eat Chicken, Veal, Beef (lean), turkey, shrimp and white fish. I'm allowed to have 100g or 3.5 oz. of meat, 1 veggie, 1 fruit and a bread stick/melba toast. Fruits and veggies are limited. Apples, strawberries, grapefruit, and oranges are the 4 fruits allowed. spinach, chard, beet greens, lettuce of any kind, tomatoes, celery, fennel, white, yellow or red onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage are the veggies allowed. They say to not mix vegetables in the same meal as it slows the results of weight loss.

There are a lot of different recipes online so although the food is limited, there are a lot of options since seasonings are allowed. Today I will be having a chicken over lettuce with salsa. Oh it sounds so yummy! That will cover my meat and veggie and since I've already had an apple this morning, I will just add a melba toast to my delicious lunch. I'm sure I'll be having dinner at my mom's so who knows what we will be having tonight.

Every morning I have been so excited to step on the scale and every morning I've lost at least 1 lb. Sometimes even a pound and a half! I have another 28 days on the drops and then I'll start the maintenance phase which I will be eating more foods until Thanksgiving. I will keep you updated as often as I can. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
